In the second quarter of 2022, the top navigation and maps apps on iOS in Oceania exhibited dynamic trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at their performance based on Sensor Tower data.

Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating from 47.9K at the end of March to a lower 28.8K by late June. Weekly active users for the app ranged between 2.65M and 2.78M, showing a stable user base throughout the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a peak in downloads at 18.2K in mid-April, gradually tapering off to approximately 12.2K by the end of June. The app’s active user count remained relatively steady, increasing from 449K in late March to around 487K by the end of the quarter.

Google Earth saw its highest download count of 15.1K in late March, declining to about 7.9K towards the end of June. Active users also decreased from 47.8K at the beginning of the quarter to around 35.8K by the end of June.

Speedometer Speed Tracker GPS had an interesting performance with weekly revenue peaking at $89 in late March and then fluctuating around $40-$68 throughout the following weeks. Travel Altimeter & Elevation experienced a remarkable spike in downloads with 22.7K in mid-April, which then sharply declined to around 17 by the end of June. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at 25K in mid-April and dropping to 752 by the end of the quarter. The app’s revenue peaked at $19 in late March and varied between $3-$17 in the following weeks.
